A female , Lynnsie writes:

A J.D.OR MBA degree, which can help me more if prusuing a business career in media and entertainment industry?

I am a female in mid 20s, just earning a MA degree from a Top 5 University of U.S., originally from China with a journalism degree from the most prestigious university of China, can speak french and japanese, love media and business. I think my interest and personality is suitable to pursue a MBA degree and I am sure it is much easier for me to get into Top 10 Business school.

But I have seen so many Chinese have not found a descent job to pay back their MBA tution after graduation (all I know are from Top 10 business school), I feel scared. It looks like top law school gives more opportunities which helps internationals break into descent international firms because of law and bilingual background. All of my chinese friends graduating from top 15 law schools got their jobs before their graduation.

So my conclusion about job market is that generally J.D. helps more. I talked to some alumni and they are now doing business in entertainment field and most of them do have a J.D. degree!! But I worry I can not be happy in law school. I don't like law that much, it is too dry and endless work. I don't seriously want to practice law in all of my life. I know a J.D. degree doesn't mean I have to practice law but maybe just a few years right after graduation. however, I just could not picture how I can survive three years stressful law school and how to get my foot in the door of media and entertainment with a good start and a better future.

Any friends here can give me some suggestions? Which professional degree I should pursue if my goal is doing busienss in the long run? or what other options I could have based on my background?

I am lost and confused-
