I have no gcses and i have only got my nvq 2 but i am doing a fastforard course in health and social care at college to earn the extra credits needed to enter a degree in nursing. You will be fine you just need to know about nursing and got to a open day at your college to show that you are intrested. You have a nvq 3 and that is the (min) that you need so you will be able to go staright on the course. p.s sorry about the spelling i am falling asleep lol xx

I am also interested in doing nursing so I may be able to help. You may have to a course in higher biology, but it depends what age you are. Mature students (21+) will usually be given access to the course as uni's are keen to have mature students. At an nvq level 3 you have a certain amount of responsibility but what I suggest you do is check colleges around you to see if they do an access to nursing course. Usually you have to be over 21 to be granted a place. I suggest you apply to uni anyway because the worst thing they can do is not accept you. In which case you can go bac to college and so higher biology and higher english OR and access to nursing course. I phoned learn direct to get advice which is free, or you can visit the website www.learndirect-advice.co.uk hope ive been of help.
