Should I have kids first or hold off until after school? I'm 31 and in college

A female , anonymous writes:

I am 31 years old and have been in and out of college. I can still be considered a freshman. I want to have kids and go back to school but we are moving in a year, so I don't want to start school and have to transfer, not to mention we only have one car, and this makes things more difficult.

My question is should I have kids and then go back to school or should I go back to school when I move in a year and just hold off having kids (meaning just let it happens when it happens)?

Has anyone else had these issues?

Your thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks.

Mr S agony auntI am about to give advice from a mans point of view (I hope you will continue to read on) as I have a large and in the main happy family I find children are a blessing however, this is not the case for everyone.

I would suggest that only you can make the decision. But in order to cum to the right one. May I suggest that you right on paces of paper ‘for’s and against’ having children know or later then with careful discussion with your partner implement your decision decide based on your list of pros and cons. The only other comment I would make is that the older you are the more difficulty child rearing can be, as you get tied more easily (I’m a father of 8 the youngest is only 9.) I had my youngest child when I was in my late 30s. I love him but, I find it harder than the rest due to my age. Think of how old you will be when the child graduates at 21ish

Good luck

Be true to yourself, think discuss and act.

All the best Mr S

martini agony auntHmmm, this is difficult, but if it were up to me, I would leave having kids after school because then I would have a lot less possible stress to deal with. One less obstacle to get your education done and over with.

The thing is, you started later in your life to pursue your post-sec. Then there is the moving thing you're going to do in a year.

It really depends on what you want to do with your post-sec. Are you trying to get a (better) job with it, or are you just doing it as a side thing? If you're trying to get your post-sec to stabilize your finances, then you may have to give up your desires for the time being.
