You could become a research nurse at a University - the pay is reasonable and the hours are usually ok. Your experience would be valuable to a research post or you could think about trying to get a job as a health advisor - there are lots of private sector companies (like insurance firms) that recruit people with some medical expertise to evaluate claims.
